Now,I'm going to introduce my trip to Fukuoka(福岡市) in the last January,2011!
I went to Fukuoka with my family on 1/1 to6/1.
In this traveling, I experienced the classic and traditional style of Japan!
(p.s. Although 1/1 was the Nes Year Festival of Japan, many shops were closed,
I could enjoy the special custom and activities in this period ^^)Do you know about Fukuoka?
Fukuoka (福岡市, Fukuoka-shi) is the capital city of Fukuoka Prefecture (福岡縣)and is situated on the northern shore of the island of Kyūshū (九州)in Japan .
It is the most populous city in Kyūshū , followed by Kitakyūshū(北九州市) . It is the largest city and metropolitan area west of Keihanshin(京阪神).
In the following parts, I will introduce the major places which I had visited: Mojiko(門司港)、Dazaifu(太宰府) and Kokura(小倉).
Mojiko was a international habour during the Meiji period.
In 1889 (Meiji 22), a port of Mojiko was opened its door to the foreign trade through the advanced industrial innovation of Kitakyushu area on that time period.
A lot of national and international trading companies built their office in Mojiko, and its downtown was very busy with visitors all around the world.
Most of buildings have been remains the same till today!!

Since the New Year festival,
there were many people in Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine(太宰府天滿宮), a famous Zen temple !
Dazaifu is a city thirty minutes by train to the southeast of Fukuoka City .About 1300 years ago, the area was the political center of Kyushu !
And, Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is one of Fukuoka 's major tourist attractions.Dazaifu is most lively around New Year and in the spring, but remains a strong attraction year-round!!

★My souvenir from Dazaifu!!
From the photoes, you can see the
Fukuoka-ken is located in the north side of Kyushu , and will be the arrival point for most visitors to Kyushu whether theycross over by the Kanmon-kyo Bridge , or the tunnel at the
Kanmon strait in Kitakyushu-city, or fly into Fukuoka airport
in Fukuoka-city.
(be continued.....)
